Executive Director Position
It is with regret that the Board of Directors accepts the resignation of Tara Donohue Weiss. Tara has been the Executive Director of the United Way of Hastings for over 10 years and has been instrumental in the growth of the organization as well as the development of partnerships in the community. Tara will be stepping down in mid-June to focus more on personal interests. We wish her the best of luck. The Executive Committee will be accepting applications for the United Way of Hastings Executive Director position. Xcel Energy & Green Mill Partner to Support United Way
Members of Xcel Energy's United Way Campaign Committee, United Way of Hastings and United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha & Pierce Counties accept a check from Tim O’Brien of Hastings Green Mill Restaurant on Friday, May 17. During the last outage at the Xcel Energy - Prairie Island Plant, Hastings Green Mill sold meals at the Outage Café. 12% of the profits were donated to United Way.

2013 LIVE UNITED Scholarship
The 2013 LIVE UNITED was awarded to Andrew Rivera at the Hastings High School Awards Ceremony on May 20. Congratulations Andrew! This is the first year that the United Way of Hastings has offered a local scholarship opportunity for high school seniors. Funds for the scholarship were raised from the United Way of Hastings Annual Social Event.

If you participate in a workplace campaign you have the option to designate your contribution to the United Way of Hastings. To be certain your contributions stay in Hastings, you must designate United Way of Hastings. When you designate you funds to the United Way of Hastings, your dollars are funneled into local organizations. Without this designation your dollars can be sent to the national organization level. Designate and keep your donation local!
