What We Do
UWH brings together people and resources to tackle complex issues in our community; drive sustainable, positive change; and create long term impact for the people of Hastings.
Our major initiatives include:
- Food 4 Kids weekend meal pack program
- Helping Kids Succeed youth development initiative
- Helping Kids Succeed Community Partners Coalition
- Opioid & Illicit Fentanyl Awareness and Education
- Mental Health and Substance Use Awareness
- Supporting Hastings High School students by funding a Communities In Schools site coordinator
- Funding over 10 different local community organizations through our annual grant process
UWH is the Heart of Hastings
We help create a thriving community by:
1. Collective Impact
We match the efforts of people and organizations in the Hastings area to work collectively on issues affecting child, family, and community well-being. Through our allocations process, we direct dollars to other nonprofits who provide direct services.
2. Investment Priorities
We establish investment priorities for internal initiatives and invest your donations where we can address those issues with the greatest possible impact.
3. Serving Our Community
We work with volunteers to set the direction of UWH and provide service throughout our community.
